Sithara Sinin is an economics researcher specialising in development economics, the economics of discrimination, and evidence-based public policy. At the Council for Social Development (CSD), Hyderabad, she is part of an ICSSR-supported longitudinal research project exploring the socio-economic dimensions of Geographical Indications (GI)-tagged rice varieties across multiple Indian states. Her work involves primary field surveys, secondary data analysis, and report writing, with a focus on how GI systems shape economic outcomes, community livelihoods, and sustainability practices. Previously, she contributed to an ICSSR-sponsored research project on migration patterns and inclusivity in higher education at the Centre for Development Economics, Delhi School of Economics, supporting primary data collection and field-based research. She holds a Master's degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics (University of Delhi) and a Bachelor's degree in Economics (Honours) from Lady Shri Ram College for Women (University of Delhi).
