Dr. Amiya Kumar Sahoo is an anthropologist, a distinguished scholar with a remarkable background in the fields of Public Health and Sustainable Development. He earned his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad in collaboration with Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata (Giridih Branch). His doctoral research focused on the intricate interplay between Ethnomedicinal Practices, Public Health and Sustainable Development, a topic of immense global importance. His work during this period has contributed significantly to both academic scholarship and practical applications in these domains.Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed his M.Sc. and M.Phil. program in Anthropology at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, where he developed a strong foundation in the bio-cultural dimensions of human societies. This interdisciplinary background has enabled him to approach the complex issues of public health and sustainable development from a unique perspective.
